Snow Caving March 2-3, 2012

                         The opening to my cave

                         Once inside your turned to the right to our bedroom

                        My matress for my sleeping bag

                      View from my sleeping bag to the opening and fresh air

                      Stephen made a really big cave

                      Here he is finishing the shelf for his sleeping bag

                       We had a nice dinning hall and seat built into the snow

                        Ean made us some fresh apple crisp

                        So warm Stephen doesn't need a coat or gloves

                        Steep climb down to our caves.

                        Next morning Mr Rainier came out for a minute

Melakwa Lake hike 9-5-2011

Up the Denny Creek Trail at 7 AM we stopped at Keekwulee Falls

Just a nice clearing in the shade before the next series of switchbacks

Beautiful Alpine lake looked inviting to swim, but no swimsuit!

Just above the first lake is Upper Melakwa lake

Just a little snow field to cross before relaxing for lunch

Steve the "Photographer" was taking pictures of a rescue

Gary pulled up a comfortable rock to relax and watch the action

Needed a quick picture of me at the lake

Stopped for a photo shoot at the falls on our way out

Hike to Annette Lake passes some beautiful waterfalls

Bridges to cross

Once at the lake it is time to relax and have a bit to eat

There was still snow at the waters edge

Steve "The Photographer" was busy!

Stephen had just finished reading the Book of Mormon

Stephen stopped to pray and got his answer

Another interesting log bridge to cross

We made it and had a good time.
